Busch Gardens Tampa Bay
Busch Gardens Tampa Bay has long been a favorite with visitors of all ages. A combination of animal encounters and a superb collection of white knuckle thrill rides, the park caters to a variety of tastes and age groups.
Rollercoaster buffs can enjoy a topsy turvey day on superb rides like Kumba, where you hit some loops doing 60mph! Montu is an equally fearsome Egyptian thriller that will scare the pyramids off you, while Python also has a couple of twists in its tail! Cool off on the Tanganyika Tidalwave, where the spectators get wetter than the participants (don't tell granny!) or try the Congo River Rapids, an old favorite that seems to get wetter every time we ride it! Brand new is Gwazi the largest dueling wooden coaster in the south east - the two separate trains go head on at least six times with a combined speed of 100 mph!
Land Of The Dragons is where you'll find numerous kid friendly rides so plan to spend an hour or so here. Lory Landing is also popular with the children as they can feed the nectar crazy lorikeets who aren't exactly shy when it comes to a free handout!
Take a breather with the Mystic Sheiks, Busch's world famous marching band, or if youre looking for a Broadway caliber experience, look no further than KaTonga - a musical journey to the heart of Africa. For a more in your face style show, check out R. L. Stiness Haunted Lighthouse, a ghostly 4-D tale starring Christopher Lloyd. . The very interesting Edge of Africa has some stylish animal habitats with hippopotami, hyenas, lions and baboons while the Serengeti Safari Tour (an extra $20) takes you out onto the plains for an extremely close up look at giraffes, zebras and rhinos. The Trans Veldt Railroad also skirts the Serengeti and provides a good opportunity to rest those weary legs! Myombe Reserve is home to a group of endangered mountain gorillas - so human it's scary and a source of constant wonder, so take some time and enjoy them.
